Renegade Craft Fair: Etsy-Come-To-Life

The Renegade Craft Fair is an annual event in which 400 makers line up along Division Street for a weekend of selling their wares. Featuring an eclectic mix of items, the event also includes food vendors and DJ sets.

DISH: Denver’s all-inclusive food-and-drink sampling festival returns to Sculpture Park for 22nd year (April 13). This year, 40 local restaurants and bars will dish up samples, including Adelitas, Syrup, Little Man Ice Cream, The Real Dill, Biker Jim’s, Americatus, Interstate Kitchen, Neighbors Wine Bar and Milk & Cake.

A new wave of renegade cider makers in America is shirking tradition and adding unusual ingredients to the fermentation tank, from chocolate to tropical fruit juices. The pizza at Renegade Craft Beer & Ciders aim is to bring out the best, or at least the weirdest, flavors in the drink.

Founded in 2011 by Brian O’Connell, Renegade has built significant business results since it began brewing beer. The brewery now operates a taproom and a 15,000 square-foot facility capable of producing 20,000 barrels annually, and distributes to Colorado and 4 other states. It has collected medals at the Great American Beer Festival and Craft Beer Awards, and it plans to grow about 35 percent this year, O’Connell told Brewbound. Silver Fox Partners, a northeastern family office, purchased a stake in the company earlier this month. The investment will enable the brewery to enhance its current operations and build a line of barrel-aged offerings. O’Connell will continue to serve as CEO, and all of the original investors will retain equity in the company.
